Approach

We also wanted to make the Gare not only a transportation hub, but also a cultural place where the users can learn about the city as they go about their day. For that, we developed one banner per floor talking about a specific historic event, as well as an app that helps you navigate the station and learn about the exhibitions that might be held there.

Gare do Oriente is a transport hub in Lisbon with Trains, Buses, Taxis and Metro. Its main structure was designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Although it's a complex structure with varios transportation methods, the users complain about the wayfinding and how unclear and confuse it is. Our goal was to solve this problem by using color as identification. Each floor is represented by a color. For example, this Sketchup renders made with V-Ray, showcase how the underground floor would look with the color focused wayfinding.
